Current Vaccinations
Pets must be up to date with Rabies vaccine, as per state law, and we strongly recommend they are current on Distemper, Bordetella & Parvo. Proof of Rabies vaccine must be provided prior to any service. Please bring a copy or e-mail vaccination records to info@sylviaspetcare.us
Matted Coats
Pets with matted coats require extra attention and care. Rogue Dog will not cause serious or undue stress to your pet by de-matting. Shaving a matted coat is the safest and most comfortable way of removing matting. By signing this agreement, you are giving Rogue Dog and it's employees the authority to determine the method of mat removal and to remove matting in any case. Mats in a pet’s coat can be tight, and ultimately damage, irritate and tear the pet's skin. Mats provide an ideal environment for bacteria, fungal and parasite infestations. Matting can also trap moisture, urine and feces near the pet's skin allowing mold, fungus or bacteria to grow, producing skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming process. Mats can be very difficult to remove, and often require the pet to be shaved. Removing a matted coat can cause nicks, cuts, abrasions, and expose/aggravate pre-existing or other medical issues. After-effects of mat removal procedures can include itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations (most cases due to licking), hematoma to the ears, abrasions and failure of the hair to regrow. In some cases, pets may also exhibit brief behavioral changes. Rogue Dog is not responsible for nicks, cuts, abrasions, skin irritations, hematoma, behavioral changes or medical expenses due to mat removal or standard grooming process. Prevention is the best defense. Keeping your pet on a regular grooming schedule of every 4-6 weeks is ideal for most pets. There will be an additional charge for this process: mat removal is time consuming, requires extra skill, care and attention, and causes extra wear and tear on grooming equipment. Our matting fees are $2 per minute. Therefore, matting fees are ultimately determined during the grooming process. By using Rogue Dog’s services, you acknowledge that you agree to this procedure, and any risk or cost involved.
Health Conditions, Behavioral Issues & Senior Pets
We ask that you notify us of any and all allergies, medical conditions, behavioral issues or accommodations needed due to age or behavior, prior to your appointment. Occasionally, grooming can expose a hidden medical problem or aggravate a current one. This can occur during or after grooming. Rogue Dog is not liable for medical expenses in any case. All medical expenses and veterinary care will be covered by the pet's owner.
Use of Muzzles
Rogue Dog always uses other methods to calm your pet before muzzles are used. We do not use a muzzle unless it is necessary. Muzzles do not harm your animal and protect both the animal and the groomer. Use of muzzles may allow the grooming process to safely continue.
Refusal of Service
Rogue Dog has the right to refuse any services at any time for any reason. In the event that your animal is too stressed or becomes dangerous to groom, Rogue Dog has the right to refuse grooming services, stop grooming services, or cancel grooming services at any time before, during, or after services.
Veterinarian Authorization & Medical Emergencies
By using Rogue Dog’s services, the pet’s owner gives Rogue Dog full authorization to seek medical treatment from the nearest veterinarian in the case of any medical emergencies while in our care. Rogue Dog is not liable in any case of a medical emergency. The pet’s owner accepts full financial responsibility for any medical expenses incurred.
General Grooming Risks
Your pet’s safety and comfort is our number one priority. Grooming equipment is sharp, and although we use extreme caution and care in all situations, possible incidents could occur including cuts, nicks, scratches, irritation, quicking of nails, etc. In the event an accident does occur, you will be notified. If Rogue Dog feels it is serious, and the owner is not on-site, Rogue Dog will seek immediate veterinary care for your pet. By using Rogue Dog’s services, owner agrees that Rogue Dog is not to be held liable for adverse reactions, injury, death or medical expenses associated with your pet(s). All medical expenses and veterinary care will be covered by the pet's owner.

However, once 48 hours have past since the original service date, return visits will be treated as a new appointment and you will be charged accordingly.
